CALM DOWN EVERYONE. Battery technology is right in the middle of major changes. There is no use in bringing out a new $40K model right now, and have it be obsolete in a year. VW has to wait to see if the new solid state batteries, or one of the other game-changers, is going to actually change the game.

Makes total sense ...as you have to hook them up to the sites electrical points on arrival???. I see these as the future of camping...just need to add a petrol top up generator... if you get caught short ? Or wireless charging via 5g networks in the future....its coming.....

This project is constantly delayed since the early 1990s. It will be totally surreal if they really make it, but $40k seems unrealistic. They will probably want to sell upmarket $60~$80k I guess

I work for a fuel supplier, and we were delivering fuel to a company for a diesel powered generator that were testing electric vehicles who were using the diesel generator to power charging stations. I hope their quest for a green clean planet didn't cause them to beat their chest too hard..🙄

They are missing the point of what they know about micro busses. They where underpowered German vehicles that Americans wanted performance for fuel combustion. Bucket seats spaced to walk between, Zero crash zone with motor in back, Use of heavy grade steel, a real heavy wildlife collation bumper, low round lights, simple material evolution with hidden sold performance engineering, like a plane fuselage that inspires the feeling of a small truck more so than a mini-van. I don't know why they can't just manufacture the same original buses with performance four wheel disk brakes, and 300 Hp performance racing motor. Everyone would love it.

I like the i.d. Buzz, can't wait to see it in person. One thing I would like to see though... A lifted Buzz for overlanding, with off-road tires, and an assorted off-road small camper trailer with a motorized axle synchronized with the Buzz via a wire on the trailer connector. Motorized axle on the trailer would be running free on highway though. The trailer would have it's own battery, and it could be used to upgrade the range of the vehicule in that configuration. Dreaming is always nice!! :)

This is my next vehicle purchase. Really looking forward to the release.

I was interested in a new VW micro bus, cool idea, but they goofed up the design (again). Front end looks like crap. Maybe Rivian will deliver. Just like the beetle revival. By the time it was finally available.. I was scratching my head AMC Gremlin-esque design.

Like I miss the chrome and the split window too but it’s time to evolve. It channels the old but with a modern twist. It’s still classier than say the Cybertruck, straight outta 1960 but with every modern amenity available.

Please tell me you will offer a front split window
